Geo-Graphic Gems is a unique company in Keene, NH that creates stunning “gems” out of vintage National Geographic magazines. The owner, Marcia Passos-Duffy is the editor of a handful of regional magazines (The Business Journal, Monadnock Table, and atHome Magazine). She collects vintage National Geographic magazines and uses CitraSolv to dissolve the ink and turn the magazine pages into gorgeous abstract creations. This technique only works on clay-based paper, which is why she is restricted to using vintage issues. She puts little glass cabochons on top of the paper to magnify the designs and uses them for pendants, earrings, barrettes, rings, and bracelets. These unique pieces are truly works of art.
